Curating colours
The exhibition features work from different decades created by Dutch artist Aad de Haas. Religion, suffering, power, seduction and eroticism are recurring themes in his work, often intertwined with experiences from his personal life. For the exhibition design Raw Color defined a palette of shades to create the fitting backdrop for each topic. The colour groups are Purple – Religion, Red – Eroticism, Power – Blue, Homesick – Green, Grey – Timeline. The exhibition took place at Schunck in Heerlen to celebrate 100 years Aad de Haas. The artist's work can be found in various museum collections and in various private collections throughout the Netherlands. The largest collection of Aad de Haas can be found in the SCHUNCK Collection in Heerlen. The idiosyncratic painter and graphic artist Aad de Haas (1920 Rotterdam – Schaesberg 1972) played a unique role in the Limburg art climate in the years after the Second World War.
'We developed a palette to create the fitting background colours to for the curated topics such as religion, power and seduction.'
