Raw Color - Blend
19 September – 29 October 2016
The Aram Gallery, 110 Drury Lane, Covent Garden, London WC2B 5SG
Raw Color’s first European solo exhibition is taking place at The Aram Gallery. ‘Blend’ is a dynamic mix of interactive installations, materials and visuals. It allows the visitor to experience the multidisciplinary nature of the design studio. With a firm and continued interest in how designers work and develop ideas, The Aram Gallery invited Raw Color to show how an interdisciplinary practice gets inspired from one activity to another, and the flow of ideas between self-initiated and commissioned work.
The work of Raw Color reflects a sophisticated treatment of material and colour by mixing the fields of graphic design and photography. This is embodied through research and experiments, building their visual language. Daniera ter Haar & Christoph Brach and their team work on self initiated and commissioned projects at their Eindhoven based studio in The Netherlands. Driven by curiosity they are questioning the meaning of the subject they are working on. Within these aspects the materialisation of colour plays a key role, and can be seen as the core of the studio.
Raw Color’s projects have been recognised and showcased national and international at:
The Aram Gallery - London, Cooper Hewitt Museum - New York, Stedelijk Museum - Amsterdam, Museum of Applied Art - Frankfurt, Museum of Craft and Design - San Francisco, Museum of Contemporary Art - Taipei, Nederlands Fotomuseum - Rotterdam and others.
Project Assistance: Mark Brand, Tijs van Nieuwenhuysen, Anne Kolkman
The exhibition is supported by the Creative Industries Fund NL.
