The TextielLab publishes this yearbook to feature the most interesting projects being developed at the Lab during the past year. The 2013 edition is designed as a follow up of the yearbook of 2012 based on the ingredients of the identity of the TextielMuseum.
The book is executed with an open spine incorporating the distinguishing pattern of the TextielLab and TextielMuseum being constructed from the icon T, M, and L. There is a double cover applied, embracing the first and last section of the book. Due to this the cover returns on the inside displaying the clients of the Lab. This mix of papers and thickness adds extra tactility to the object. An elastic knitted cord is especially developed in the TextielLab keeping the smaller Insert booklet on its place in the centre of the book. Next to the graphic design presenting projects, stats and figures there was a photo series shot. Two projects are highlighted from the used yarns till the final textile pieces.
The TextielLab of the TextielMuseum is a knowledge centre that is highly specialised workshop for producing experimental knits and woven fabrics. Textile innovation takes place from yarns, to computer-controlled techniques. National and international designers, architects, artists and promising students are supported by product developers and technical experts.
The text in the book is written by Annemarie Hoeve, editor of AMH Words. The printing of the book is done by Gianotten Printed Media and the book is bound by Boekbinderij van Mierlo.
